This free Plugin for WordPress and ClassicPress allows you to completely customize any user’s Display Name

Ever wondered how to change the name shown as post author – like e.g. “Posted three days ago by John Doe in Category Whatever“. In this case “John Doe” would be the “Display Name” set in the users profile.

WordPress and ClassicPress only allow you to select from a few given values that are automatically created from other settings. It is not possible to fully customize the Display Name.

This simple and handy plugin changes the Display Name field from a drop-down list to a regular text input field where you can type in anything you like. It does not need any configuration.
